Marc Górriz Blanch

Marc Gorriz Blanch is pursuing a PhD on ‘Adaptive Content Delivery’ through a supervision collaboration between BBC Research & Development in London and the School of Electronic Engineering and the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at Dublin City University. His main research interests are video compression and artificial intelligence.

Marc graduated with an MSc degree in computer vision from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2018. His final thesis was completed as a research visitor at Insight Center of Data Analytics (DCU) and focused on developing a deep learning solution for automatic knee osteoarthritis diagnosis from X-Ray images. The work was accepted for publication at the MIDL 2019 conference in London, UK. He holds a BSc in Audiovisual Systems Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC, 2017)

In addition to his formal studies, Marc also gained experience as a research intern at the Image and Video Processing Group of Signal Theory and Communications Department at UPC (Nov 2017 – Apr 2018). During his internship, Marc collaborated with the Computational Biology and Complex Systems Group of the Physics Department at UPC.
